There Dream Cake is a traditional Danish dessert, the recipe dates back to the 60s and it seems to have been invented by a lady during a cake competition. In Italy this dessert, particular for its goodness and because it is cooked in two stages, has become famous thanks to the television program Bake Off, in an episode of the famous show, Ernst Knam proposed his reinterpretation of chocolate by clearing the recipe to the Italian public who immediately appreciated the combination of chocolate and coconut proposed by the pastry chef.
What I propose today is in fact the Dream cake, or Knam's dream cake, a sweet with an enveloping flavor that won me over at the first taste. I could only start the Monday following a long holiday with a sweet that was a cuddle, and this seems perfect to me, what do you think? Basins and happy monday: *
How to make the Dream cake
Sift together the flour, cocoa and baking powder.
We prepare the chocolate dough base
Whip the whole eggs with the sugar and vanilla essence until you get a light and fluffy mixture. Then add the flour mixed with cocoa and continue to whisk until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
Then add in finely chopped chocolate and, according to the recipe, a chopped tonka cocoa bean but I didn't put it.
Also add the milk and the melted butter.
Pour the mixture into a greased and floured mold, then bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 35 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the coconut layer
In a bowl, mix together the coconut flour, brown sugar, melted butter and milk.
When the chocolate base is ready, pour the coconut mixture on the surface trying to level it as much as possible.
Put back in the oven and bake the cake for another 10 minutes at 200 °
Once cooked, let the dream cake cool then cut into slices and serve.
