Spend the night like the stars do by throwing a glamorous bash.

This Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, the worlds of television, film, and The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon will merge together for the annual Golden Globes. Though we won’t be able to laugh it up with Emma Stone, flirt with Donald Glover, or talk fashion with Tom Ford while indulging in a legendary open bar, we can watch from home.

For the 10 Things You Need for a Golden Globes Watch Party slideshow, click here.

Putting together a killer Golden Globes watch party is surprisingly easy to do. Like any party, you need to decide on a theme, dress code, and menu. Ideally, all of these things will involve Hollywood or one of your favorite nominated shows or film, but it doesn’t have to.

Then, you just need to put out your own massive open bar, pop some popcorn in the microwave, fill out your ballot, and get ready to go. Along the way, play some drinking games to keep the party really rolling. Before you know it, you’ll have your own red carpet-worthy event that is sure to rival the one in Los Angeles.

Here Are 10 Things Filmmakers Want Festivals to Do

The torrential feedback to last week’s article 10 Things Every Film Festival Wants Filmmakers to Know warrants a response from filmmakers. As festivals
know, filmmakers are the true heart and sole of a film festival. During
my tenor with festivals, I have spoken to, or consulted with, hundreds
of filmmakers. In the spirit of helping festivals understand filmmakers
and with homage to Law & Order, these are their (and my) stories.

Laurie Kirby, Esq., president and CCO of the International Film &
Music Festival Conference, executes an
annual conference for film, music
festival and tech leaders and oversees a magazine publication LINEUP for
festival executives. A former attorney and former film festival
executive, Kirby is a consultant and frequent speaker at film festivals
and event conferences in areas that include event planning, nonprofit
management, distribution, celebrity relations, film production,
sponsorship, sports law, real estate and conservation law, grant
writing, licensing, social media and traditional marketing.
